Sir Francis, Thanks for getting back to me, as I thought you would. As I explained to Infostream, I don't think I can effectively utilize a back up broker, since most of my assets are in IRAs. Suspect that I have become what you call a swing trader, taking a position for a few hours to a few days, but not dependent on scalping every sixteenth. DATEK is sounding good, and I got decent executions when I used them a couple years back. Still want to get a bit more info on a Merril Advantage account. Annual fee in liu of commissions of $1500 or 1%, whichever is greatest. Ciao
