If my cop-out was to not answer you about banning eating utensils for obese people, then so be it.. because I deemed that comment not worthy of a reply.

Your definition of socialism amuses me Monty.. have you ever taken any political science or political philosophy courses for the proper definition of it? In my experience, most American right-wing Republicans think the same way as you do, (and even some misguided right-wing Canadians - tho few in # :) ) so I dont consider that too bad of a blotch on your character, just a flawed definition. For your info, Canada is considered a middle of the road political system, where free market enterprise is prevalent, but where public involvement in things such as medicare etc are deemed necessary to take the "rough edges" off of capitalism and to modify its excesses.. and to make sure we help the people who fall thru the cracks of the system.

Check Western Europe Monty.. they have a lot of the same if not more gov't involvement then Canada does.. but they are also free market. Canada and Western Europe are no more socialist then George Bush is a Democrat. Socially aware and socially active, yes.. socialist..? hardly. Now.. you may disagree with any government involvement in any sector of a society.. which is your right... but that doesnt make a society that doesnt mind a few nationally run policies as a "socialist" society. Do some political research on what socialism actually means and Canada's political system and culture before you make wide sweeping statements.

Monty, if you want to be the moderator/censor here, how about doing something about the other burning issues of the day? Maybe you could invite people to take the guns and abortion discussion over to some TA thread you favor? Please?-)
