Sandeep, Balmer may be saying internet junks are overvalued with 90% going bust & MSFT is undervalued. He will never say MSFT is undervalued. I think he doesn't like the exuberance in internet stocks as that leads to problems like recruiting top talent.

I am told several folks who left Microsoft last year during the internet startup craze are now looking for jobs and internally employees at Microsoft are feeling good about staying where they are.

Ballmer has to trash tech stock prices because when they are expensive, it costs more for MSFT to buy (or "strategically invest") them, and prevent them from becoming successful threats to MSFT's monopoly.

You notice he doesn't mention specific stock names? That's because it would be an SEC violation for somebody with Ballmer's proven stock market power to talk down a stock and then buy it cheap. So instead he tries to talk down the whole tech sector. And it works!
