"The next question is how quickly they deploy:
1. voice
2. VOD
3. work at home video conferencing"

justone- And important questions they are. Here are a few of my rambling thoughts on the three subjects.

VOD As you know, before VOD there has to be digital video. And it's a fact that digital video is catching on like wildfire as judged by the massive rampup of MOT and SFA digital STB sales. After which I'm really hoping VOD is finally going to be a true killer app for the MSOs.

Work at HomeThe work at home aspect you point out is one of the key reasons given for the NT+ANTC combo. NT has all the equipment and software to do VPN. VPN is another app I'm hoping will catch on too. The more telecommuters, the more popular this feature will be. An unknown is how many small business are within reach of the cable plant? I rarely read statistics on this. As I mentioned upstream, most techs in my area seem to say something around 1 out of 5 installs is a small business(strip store type business).

Voice If ANTC/Arris Interactive/NT has 60% of the installed voice lines today(per their CC), then ADCT and TLAB have the other 40% between the two of them. ANTC/NT/Arris has shipped 1,200,000 voice lines to date. So that means there are approximately 2,000,000 circuit-switched local cable telephony lines out in the world today. TLAB did $204 million in broadband access in Q300. I would assume most of it is voice related Cablespan product. We have yet to see what ADCT does with Homeworx.

Like I said, just some ramblings. -MikeM(From Florida)
