TImeout for civilities!
OUTER BANKS!!! We spent every summer in Nagshead when I was growing up and I want to die there.
We went deepsea fishing this summer- (we stayed up in Duck- but sailed out of Oregon Inlet) caught abou 56 dolphin and something else, but NO tuna. It was rough and cold and rainy. We had a great time, except that the pills we had taken knocked us all out. Do you go there a lot?

I've heard of the waves at the Outer Bank. As strange as it may sound, waves are really different depending on the body of water. 5-6' are nothing on the ocean as they are spaced much further apart. Fishing off Montauk Point 10' swells were hardly noticeable. 5-6' on Lake Ontario can be bone rattling and on Oneida Lake in Central NY, which on has a mean depth of less than 20', the waves are sharp and spaced so close that as you roll over the top of one you smack head first into the face of the next. 3-4' waves will just about wreak everything in the boat. On one trip coming back from the opposite end of the Lake on a 33' boat, the waves and spray hit the windshield so hard they tore off the wipers, broke the VHF antenna, and I lost 2 fenders and a life ring. The boat does not do an awful lot of lifting, it's the slamming into the face of the next wave, sort of like hitting a rubberized sand embankment. Quartering does not help much.

About the closest I ever got to being sick was on a landing craft during an exercise in the USMC and I can see why it would be an unforgettable experience.

Boating is too much fun, let's get back to degrading each other over politics. After the election we can start a new thread on Religion. LOL
