hi Rich,

Any thoughts on the new Taiwanese language ? It is very similar to FookKien dialet. However, some of the elder generation of Taiwanese, most notably from major cities, don't understand the language. Now, it is becoming more popular there than the mainstream mandarin. Well, too bad...too many Chinese dialets to learn. I think I would stick with Mandarin. =P
