A good idea of the mediocre performance of large technology companies as a group can be seen at spdrindex.com - click on the technology index(XLK), then get a 2 year comparison to the SP 500. This shows how gorilla power is not just a function of large cap tech.
On another subject I heard on CNBC that Celera now has the genetic map of the fruit fly and the mouse. This is very important for research. Both species have a treasure trove of research already done on them, and the mouse shares an astonishing number of genes with humans. We are in the early stages of a revolution in medicine, a subject important to all of us. That is, if the government doesn't succeed in killing off drug research by the pharmaceutical companies.

Nope.. just shows the value of a 'value chain' :) I believe Nortel is working on their own high speed router. Or will buy their way into this sector if need be. In the mean time their relationship with JNPR works just fine. Excellent product for the OC-192 platform from what I hear.
