Sure if thats where they were yielding they would introduce at this level.

Clearly the PIV will suffer vs PIII in IPC by 10% or so.

But a 1.2Ghz PIV should still beat up on a 1Ghz cumine on Intel's "selected" benchmarks.

BTW, i expect the PIV to be great on some benchmarks like spec int and fp. And perhaps not so good on others.

But this has always been the case, no new architecture wins at everything.
