"honesty and decency in the White House"........you really believe Bush is honest and decent. Maybe compared with Richard Nixon. Don't give me that holier than thou stuff about the presidency. Almost every president has skeletons in his closet . Do people look at JFK differently because he fooled around with MM ? No one was worse for the presidency than Nixon who everyone hated by the time he left office. How do you account for Clinton's continued popularity then?

Cheerleader Kevin: Re: "What's at issue is here is not continued prosperity, but honesty and decency in the White House."

Disagree. Lots of undecideds on Nov. 7 will close the little curtain behind them, then ask the question: "Am I better off now than I was in 1992?" Then they'll vote their pocketbook. Bush, no doubt, has solidified his base with die-hard Repubs and those who hate Clinton for his sexual misconduct. However, I suspect that Bush has basically come to a dead-end. I think most of the remaining undecideds will either vote for Gore or not vote at all. All Gore has to do in the next two weeks is continue to work hard (like he did over the Labor Day weekend) and hammer home the message of peace and prosperity. I think if Gore takes off his tie and rolls up his shirt sleeves, he'll win because he has the better battle plan for America.
