Jim, that's not true. He said it would be faster than the PII


PII was the first cartridge processor, required new motherboards, external in-cartridge cache (for the first time ), etc. and was a slow ramp.

Tony,
The way Intel stated it, the P4 will be the steepest ramp ever for a new design CPU. The P3 was not a new design. The P2 was. The P2 was also the most successful product so far in Intel's history and caused it to dominate the industry. Their even numbers have always been turning points in their history. I expect the P4 will do the same for them.
