Fellas and Gals,

You may be interested in checking out the new section on institutional holdings on SI. I checked out Sandisk, and about 52% of the outstanding shares are owned by the top 10 institutions, most of which are mutual fund companies.

The other interesting point is that of those top 10, nearly all of them have high turnover in Sandisk. It's no wonder that this stock is volatile.

As regards the Lexar lawsuit, I agree that Sandisk should take a somewhat more active role in responding. But do not mislead yourself into thinking that Lexar is doing something that unusual. The purpose of corporate lawsuits is almost always delay, delay, delay and delay. Convincing a court to provide injunctive relief is not easy. The evidence would have to be overwhelming. And how many judges are technically capable of understanding the engineering needed to sort out these patents?

Jim

They were high. Now they are not.

It's the economy.
