It boils down to this for me, anyone who promotes bigger federal government, and socialistic or quasi-socialistic programs, is a threat to our national well-being. Our founding fathers never envisioned anything like the bloated mess we have now; large federal government and/or socialism doesn't work, free enterprise does. Not perfectly, but the best system the world has seen to date.
It's unfathomable what we take for granted each day. A huge percentage of what is OURS, is absconded with every paycheck, every purchase, hidden costs in the goods we buy, taken from us in an insidiously invisible way. Imagine if on April 15 we had to send in cash so we could all see it what is taken by stealth. The aggragate populous just might wake up from our ignorant stupor and actually pay attention to what our hired help is doing to us, the paymasters, the workers, the true creators of our economy. Not Greenspan , not Bill, not Congress, we the American public are responsible for the economy.
The Democrats craven pitch to the most uninformed amonst us, the weakest, the most fearful, " We represent you- let us take care of you, you need us.( but of course, if you had the full fruits of your labors, well, then we wouldn't be needed at all- but thats another story). And do the Democrats even come through? Gore's pitch is the same tired crap Clinton and he ran on- of course if these supposed problems were fixed they would have nothing to run on, no BS scare tactics. No, better to have scare issues forever than solve anything( if anything truly needs "solving").
Its the Democrats and Gores disgusting hypocrisy that I hate.

OT - However bad shape Texas is in - it is a hell of a lot better than when Ann Richards (the Dem) was Governor. This is such a bogus rap I can't believe anyone would even try it. They must think our public is ignorant.

Brian,

I voted for Bradley in the primary and I am not a big fan of Clinton and Gore, but I get sick to my stomach when I think of Bush, Cheney, and the Republican party.

How does Cheney run on a ticket for a party that is anti-gay when his own daughter is a lesbian. If she is attacked because of her sexual orientation, that doesn't qualify as a hate crime if you are a Republican!

Try to support Bush's tax plan. It is not good for the economy or lower and middle income people. Surprise! It is good for wealthy people.

If you oppose a woman's right to choose, vote Republican. If you think a candidate should visit a school that bans inter-racial dating and say nothing, vote for Bush.

If you are a fatcat, an Ayatollah, or a bigot, then you probably vote Republican.

Cary
