You inferred that I had no clue as to what I was talking about.

You still have no clue, but not in regards to the international subs. I hate to have to go back and run over this crappola just to prove a stupid point but I believe my disagreements with you were as to whether or not they would more likely hit the target with self install as an option. I don't remember ever saying anything about international subs pro or con, but you might have. I know somebody mentioned that Chello wouldn't be included (and they aren't), but I honestly can't remember if international subs have ever been included in that original target (my thinking is they haven't) or if they are sticking them in there in a last ditch effort to make things look better.

Or do you think that ATHM can add about 900,000 subs in Q4?

No, it would take a major leap of faith I don't have. Missing this quarter changes the projection.

If I remember correctly my whole disagreement with you and others on this board had to do with whether or not self-install would help raise sub numbers. I still think that it won't because the reason the sub numbers aren't what they should be is the same old same old. People who are clamouring for the service aren't in the upgraded areas and in the upgraded areas the demand isn't sufficiant to make up the difference. The reason I say that is that if the truck roll was holding things up we would see a back log in installs in the upgraded areas and there is none. The waiting period is in areas where the cable isn't upgraded. All the self install kits in the world won't solve that problem.

It's more like 860,000, but who's counting.

Bottom line is that they have officially predicted they won't hit three million in north america. They may not even hit three million worldwide.

"Excite@Home indicated that it expects its broadband subscriber base to grow in the fourth quarter by 25% to 30%."

Thats a *total* subscriber base of 2.9-3.0 million.

Reducing subscriber targets and increasing expected losses. A one two punch. And don't forget to throw in a CEO who tells outright and obvious lies, making promises that plainly won't be kept.

No wonder this stock has been dragged through the mud. I think a lot of us are finally registering why this is such a POS to own.

I cant wait to hear the CC to see how they hand wave through this one.
