I think so. It starts from what AMD calls Model 4. Looking at the tables, it seems that AMD chose to use publish worst case scenario for all chips across stepings and Austin/Dresden.

So all chips that are model 4 tolerate 95ºC. But there are chips out there that are made under previous stepping, but those chips go only up to 1 GHz.

the max thermal power (pg 35) and power supply current (pg 40) increase from 650MHz - 1GHz seems linear, but the 1.1 and 1.2GHz have numbers off the chart

I don't think the jump is out of ordinary. Notice that the frequency used to go up by 50 MHz, but from 1 GHz it goes up by 100 MHz, so the power and current will jump by twice amount.

ps: calculating power consumption of 2 GHz P4, it would be almost 100 W (actually 96.9 W if the voltage doesn't change). If Intel tuns into the same problems with P4 as with P3, and if they start to lower the max temperature below 90ºC, they will have to get extremely creative with the cooling.

Nope.

The ThumperBurn is generating even more steam at 66 watts - and 95 deg. C - just a tad below the boiling point of water.
