Wow! the first DAR duel! This is indeed a noble thread.

The Chief of Naval Operations testified before Congress after the Cole incident, said he has but 101 ships to work with. I've heard that of this 101 there's only two tenders for oiling the fleet. So we can see why warships are now being sent into port for fueling, which makes them vulnerable to attack. Here's our 'budget surplus': we retired the Navy's tenders, and made targets out of billion dollar Aegis cruisers.

I also saw a report that the Navy had requested security precautions for its ships in port, but the Clinton administration turned them down because they didn't want to 'offend' their Yemeni hosts. Politics rates higher for this Administration than the safety of American servicemen, imagine my surprise. A replay of what they did in Sudan.
