Rf: If the SPs were the good partners they should be, they would buy the first gen phones back. (as from Bill on the Hill) the local outlets had to pay full retail ($699) in order to stock them. (Is it any wonder finding a G* phone in a store is as hard as finding a G* long with a profitable position?) How could they possibly expect to build out the distribution chain when no one else demanded such a payment.

If I would have known this was the level of support the SPs were going to show their outlets, I would have left G* long ago. The SP's knowledge and marketing competence was a major 'plus' for me when I was doing my DD. The results to date dont back that assumption up. It is not over yet, but it is getting late in the game.

How does G* quickly dispose of the 94k some QCOM UT's in various stages of the distribution chain?

Two ideas come off the top of my head:

1. Can SCADA card be added to them and the software installed? If so, SCADA can roll out quickly.

2. GIVE the "old" phones to fence-sitting customers and let them know that sleeker phones are available.

What do I think G* will do? Nothing. They'll let the phones sit on the shelves.

My prediction of 4 months ago (which was mocked) that the SPs were waiting for the new phone to come out all of a sudden seems plausible. I wonder what other "crazy" theories of mine may become more and more plausible....

Lets see, what was the name of the company that had a mistake?????

Hmmmm?

Wasn't it Intel and their chip?

Oh yeah, and they replaced it and turned a bad deal into a good deal. And sold millions and millions of chips.

Reduce the price of the phones!!!!
Offer them for 1/2 price to authorized dealers.
Make everyone authorized to deal.

Lots of ways to fix a problem. They want to sell minutes.
Have to have phones in customers hands to do that.

That is why cell phone companies give the phones away......

Duhhhhh.
