freeus, was the market insane last nov/dec? I would say it was more so than now. We tend to forget that stocks do go down, yes, and they can be negative for a whole year. I do believe that those of us who are investing, not gambling as INTCFAN put it, in quality companies, like NT/CSCO/JDSU/NTAP/EMC/QCOM, will be quite pleased with the returns over a 3/5/10 yr basis. But if one expects to repeat the ridiculous results we achieved last year, they're living in lala land. Lastly, Voltaire is quite right; time capsule. That time capsule might be a week or month or year, but it will work in our favor. DON"T PANIC!

lynn...re: "if it keeps up i can't imagine that investors will continue to buy stocks"

that is the mindset that is needed to reverse the trend....still exists a bit of fearlessness....capitulation will occur...always has...nothing differs this time...

lot of value out there....look for stocks that have not neared previous lows, and have traded sideways to slightly down today on below average volume....

good luck...ed
