"Along with the slow down in cap ex in cable co,..."

Thread- There is a tax liability due to Divicom sale to Harmonic. From faltering memory: Part of the deal was HLIT was going to pay half and CUBE other half of tax burden. Something of this nature.

nghi- I'm still not sure what is going on in capex spending. You would assume by listening to the CCs, that the problem is supply. Don't ask me how, but that is what some are saying. You would think sequential growth would be there if this was accurate. So I still don't get it. Maybe it's just CEOs putting positive spin on a miss.

Now both MOT and SFA certainly show no slow down in capex spending. Probably depends upon what part of the network you serve. It seems to shift around DRAMATICALLY. TLAB didn't mention any problems in cableco land. And we have yet to see what ADCT says and CCBL too. CUBE had no problems in STB chip sales. Capex is a hard one to pinpoint. Probably depends upon who you talk to.

IFCI who generates nearly half of revenues from cablecos mentioned no problem in top line. So spending is there. They messed up on the bottom line though and got hammered badly. -MikeM(From Florida)

I am aware of most of the info. Thanx ,
I am still shocked as how one huge company (nortel) takes the whole market down. As if Dell, msft, hlit and others are less attractive now.
