Hi Mike, joined you in FMO. Curious your take on SOC, which I'm interested in for similar reasons. You mentioned individuals buying more parts in the future as they'll want to/need to save some money when/if this thing lands. On the note of saving money & cutting expenses, I sniff a return in popularity to camping in the future, & to me that's Coleman products ala Sunbeam. When people get sick of the planned obsolescence products they've been buying, do you also see a demand for a return to quality & DIY? & if so, what other DIY-type companies might you or others have in mind?

IMO, we've had massive ongoing inflation masked by selling inferior product quality or quantity at the same price, especially since Clinton's 2nd term started. I've had cheap plastic pieces on two of my newer "commercial duty" Maytag appliances break them(2nd time on the washer), and seen the quality of the woodworking equipment I use deteriorate with plastics and poor quality. I won't even go there with the quality/direction of MSFT products <g>. Anyone else annoyed by this?

thanks in advance for your comments,
Tom

MB: any thoughts on the fire sale in the optical area? Do you think any of them are worth their current prices. CNXT, NOPT etc down 90% from their highs.

Missed this latest MU plummet, but its been fun to watch anyway.
