Hi Rock, I would suspect that the mutual fund managers are trying to sell the most down stocks to offset the tax gain by the end of October. After that they can buy them back. For just a few points higher when they buy back, they got a whole lot of tax free gain for the report this year. It works opposite way with the stock pushing at the end of other quarters.

Why would anyone in there right mind sell everything indiscriminantly knowing full well that this is what everyone is waiting for so that the market can go up afterwards,.. this capitulation story has been so overplayed in the media and here that I just don't get it...I for one will not be a seller....

It is called fear.
