Goutama,

One thing I don't like about the chipset strategy is that every new advance of FSB makes all the old chipsets and motherboards obsolete. It will not be too long before we see 150, 166 and 200 MHz FSB. Is AMD going to release new chipsets for every increment?

I wish the chipsets came with these capabilities built in, so that the motherboard and chipset makers can make some money on the chipset, rather than see their inventory turn almost worthless when the new increment is introduced.

Joe

<< Fair enough. I'm just happy to see a release date on AMD760. Next one I have been anxiously waiting for is ALIMagic chipset for Athlon, followed by Mustang, and AMD761MP. Ali's chip handles SDRAM, as well as DDR DRAM with graphics, and other functions integrated on the chip. It will make Via sweat a little bit more with Athlon chipsets. >>

I completely agree, it's great just to finally have it here. I'm also anxiously awaiting the ali and sis chipsets, the more competition on the chipset front the better.
