I have both in house workers and field installers so I know the difference. I would rather sell only what I produce in house and let others do the install any day of the week.
Not that field installers are any less better workers it's just the nature of field work.
Always an unforseen conflict, so your team must stop until the problem is coordinated with other trades or an answer comes from the home office. Or something is damaged or missing.
Some of the guys come in a little late, leave a little early. No punching of time clocks in the field.
The overall pace of the job is slower then you anticipated therefore your manpower is onsite longer then planned, thus higher labor cost and slower billings.
I could go on but you get the picture I'm sure.
