Today after JDSU report i see the flood of negative articles
from different sources like TheStreet.com about tech still going down, capex effecting vendors sooner or later( soon they start to talk about slowdown 5 years from now, so why buy today ).
Sounds like some did not cover yet....,
What they forget to mention is that when WCOM is forecasting 9 billion capex for 2001 just slightly below 2000, they are going to shift lots of $ from circuit switching to optics and
packet technology.
In consequence companies with right products are going to grow, where other will experience nightmare (Lucent).
There is lots of talk about Williams.
Well they said that previously expected capex for next two years will go down from 5.8 tp 5.6 billion.
Just 4% less is even impossible to predict.
One carrier is going to spend a lot other less, but overall demand is growing.
How accurate were prediction of some bears(Lehman Brothers) about JDSU before 4pm today?
How accurate was P.Sagawa about LU ( he was very positive), and about NT or JDSU( not exited)year or two ago?

Hi tg, mtnlady - with respect to the revenue stream and MIS issues, I think CSCO may be joining the rank of NT soon, in the sense that the former is moving into the carrier space. Sure, the router boxes should provide it with steady stream, but other divisions like the optical will be subject to lumpiness just the same. A while back, I read it has a backlog of more than 3B [?], that is the sign of things to come.

Mtnlady, with regard to the IT fctn, I think NT can certainly ask her outsourcer to provide better reporting. That actually is a good sign for the tech sector in general, there is still a lot of refinement to be made in terms of linking ERP, MIS reporting etc etc. Therefore, there is a lot of good investments to be had in this area, the problem is I ve picked the wrong stocks :)!

best, Bosco
