By Molly Schuetz

Brussels, Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Alcatel SA and Thomson Multimedia SA, the world's
fourth-biggest maker of consumer electronics, won European Union approval to form an
alliance to provide digital equipment to cable companies in the U.S. and Europe for
video-on-demand and other interactive television services.

Hey Zbyslaw, didn't ALA IR recently hedge themselves by stating revenues would be between 6.5 and 7 billion Euros...along with some crazy comment about "6.5 or 7...what's the difference"? That comment still bothers me...I hate to think they come in on the low end of the range. Looks like analysts consensus is above ALA's high end, with the more optimistic considerably above.

This is ALA's chance to grab the spotlight bigtime. They don't want to blow it now with weak revenue numbers. Serge understands how the street works and doesn't want to relive fall '98 so I expect a great story for the quarter and looking forward. Here's to hoping.

Good luck everyone!
