sometimes waiting six to 8 weeks to "respond" to a rhetorical posting gives perspective not available immediately up first read. This it is with this reply to your referenced posting. It looks as if your enthusiastic entry into drooy and all things xau was a tad hasty at this date. You wrote: "---OPEC is ultimately going to face what they have in every prior Oil Shock - an ultimate simultaneous fall of the price of Crude & the US Dollar that they get paid for their oil with---" I'm a believer of those one here who claim that the $30 or so per barrel received by mideast oil shieks is just a front, and that the price they are really selling their oil for is US$ plus gold. Thus it is my opinion that oil is many thousands of dollars a barrel in reality and the reason why the gold carry trade exists in the first place. Anyhow, carry on. Always nice to see you swinging for the fences...the swoosh of your bat makes for a nice breeze in the box seats behind the plate. dblclk
