Paul, Thanks for finding that post. How did you find it? I've been looking for it.
Actually, the delay part is looking pretty darn close even though the exact reason interpreted incorrectly. Mind you, this is 2nd hand information...perhaps not from a technical expert such as yourself.

RE:"from December, 1999" "The Intel sales force has let it be known that their new chip Willamette will probably not be available until 2001"

Well duh Paul. how did I know that? Lucky guess, eh?
You hought ut was going to be August. Well duh, who is going to be closer?

Re: "The Intel sales force has let it be known that their new chip Willamette will probably not be available until 2001 ! Seems that they were supposed to have finished the design in January -2000 - but now are forecasting another slippage that may last 6 months or more. "
Sorry to disappoint you Jimbo but Willamette is already in Fab. This post will go down as another "Athlon is practically ready for production" and "AMD could release the K63 at any time but they don't want to confuse the market this close to Christmas".

Re: 6 months from that January 2000 date !!

Am I the only one who missed noticing some deluge of P4's in July?

Are you claiming P4 wasn't delayed more than 6 months beyond January 2000?
