RE:"Sorry to disappoint you Jimbo but Willamette is already in Fab. This post will go down as another "Athlon is practically ready for production" and "AMD could release the K63 at any time but they don't want to confuse the market this close to Christmas"."...
Elmer,
It appears that the Willamena may have just gone back to the drawing board. Your post may go down as another "Willimena is already in FAB". <G>
For sure, we'll just have to see how it pans out...but if Willimena is due in Q4, then 2000 could easily slip into 2001...
And the Spry Athy may be in excess of 1.2G by then?

Jim"

Jim,
<Always the naysayer. <G> >

My comments were based completely on my experience and what I have been hearing of late. I

I have had only one occasion in over a decade where the chip I was associated with was presumed a failure after tapeout and before the silicon arrived - it is a very rare occurrence.

Smart management does not let a chip tapeout unless they are very confident about what they are going to get. <<If this rumor turns out true it will speak volumes about the state of engineering management at Intel.>>

Jim,

<P4>

Giveup! Your rumors on the topic were patently bogus. In my view Paul and Saturn are quite accurate in portrayal of the substance of what you said.
If I were you, I would pick another battle to fight.

Re: "the delay part is looking pretty darn close even though the exact reason interpreted incorrectly. "

So what - you can still Butt Slap yourself silly for being wrong.

Whichever way the wind is blowing, eh Jim?
