It takes very little to get people to embrace fads in education. Ah the glorious things people used to say about whole language (which turned out ot be a dismal failure). So many sucky ideas have been embraced so often, it's really very sad.

I do not like fads in education. I would like to see our schools teach basic math, reading with phonics, writing with grammar (and let's not worry about crushing those innocent little souls with a little well needed CORRECTION on their writing papers), social studies that doesn't involve stupid projects done mostly by parents....I could go on, but what's the point?

As for testing- at the MAXIMUM a full day of it. And that's it. What we have now sucks royally.
