did they get religion about the budget. No amount of wishing is going to place the balancing of the budget back to Reagan or Bush. It happened because of the partnership of Clinton who focused on revenues and Gore who focused on spending reduction. The result is a balanced budget, as opposed to rhetoric about a balanced budget which came before. Just look at how Clinton plays Congress like a fiddle each year if you think that they deserve the credit. TP
