Cirruslvr
I think that everyone on thread is waiting for series of benchmarks from different sources - that what I am waiting for, at least.

What impresses me is not that AMD is holding steady as Intel is dropping, but that AMD is holding steady as the Nasdaq is dropping. This portends a respectable climb once the Nasdaq starts to recover. Look out 23.00!

Cirruslvr,

<I'm talking about the thred. The market in general doesn't know enough to realize that DDR is better than SDR.>

I see that you have voiced this concern a few times today. From my perspective, if people are disappointed with the performance then the expectations were out of line. Looking at Sharky/Anand/Tom (standard benchmark guys as far as I am concerned) shows that there is absolutely nothing to be disappointed with except for the early stage of the platform.

Clearly, the DDR platform is not quite ready for prime time in Q4. This mild delay in platform is not a complete unknown. So, that was an expected disappointment from my perspective.

The highlight clearly is Micron. By not going to P4 Micron is making a big statement. AMd now has 2 of the top 3 direct houses in the US. And Micron has enough on the line to push Athlon hard into the direct space.

Yeah, Micron volumes are nowhere near the other guys but the pressure this move can put on other players can be quite significant. Can't complain!

All in all, it was a good day relative to my expectations.
