Because the media still gives them publicity and automatic credibility, which moves the market. If I happen to disagree, I get screwed and there's nothing I can do about it.knc

I'm not sure if an analysts goal is accuracy. Instead, an analyst is considered succesful and heavily rewarded by their firm if they create volume and volatility, regardless of the direction of price movement.
