Jerry Sanders was supposed to be the marketing genius of the original chip guys (moore, grove, kilby etc.) It is very, very surprizing that AMD does so poorly in its marketing.

Milan,

I think he is. He's taken what was an unknown chip, the Athlon, from what was considered a second rate company, and in the space of year, turned it into an increasingly popular microprocessor while making it possible for AMD to garner more and more respect in the PC world.

I think that's major and none of it happened by chance. Further I think Harvard should do a case study as suggested by niceguy in some of his posts.
