Hi Jack, Yes, it can be done and I've done it in the past. You'll want to copy the appropriate files from the "live" directory to the "simulation" directory. Let's say the stock in question is a real "dog" and its symbol is AARF. :-)

Copy AARF.hst and AARF.npd from the "live" directory to the "simulation" directory. This is done within Windows Explorer.

That was the easy part. Now you're going to have to be careful and do some editing of the Stock.npt files in both the "live" and "simulation" directories. Open the "live" Stock.npt file with WordPad or some similar word processor. Look for the line with AARF in it. Highlight the entire line. Then copy it with the "Edit" and "Copy" menu items.

Close the "live" file and open the "simulation" file. Open the Stock.npt file with WordPad. This file is arranged alphabetically. So, see where AARF would normally fit. Place the cursor at the beginning of that line and hit ENTER to create a gap. Place the cursor at the beginning of that gap and, using the "Edit" and "Paste" commands, add the AARF line to that place. Please, no extra key strokes!

Now you have to SAFE that file with the changes.

You should now be able to open your "simulation" files and find AARF, your dog stock, just as though it was there with all its fleas all along!

Best regards, Tom
