Re:why do you suppose those fellows choose to work for Jerry sanders? What's the attraction? They could go anywhere couldn't they?. Why do they work for AMD?

Intelligent discussion ! I have close friends and relatives working for both cos. Everyone agrees that AMD is a much better place to work for. People first, Profit follows !

From what I've heard Dirk has always wanted to implement his dream x86 cpu and AMD gave him the chance (and probably the best offer). From a financial perspective AMD might be able to pay him best too, since the company was worth so little the options would be explosive in value if he could really push them ahead of Intel.

<< As for Jerry Sanders looking like a "washed-up" CEO, I'll have to disagree with you there. >>

He's not washed up at all. Which is most unfortunate. I don't know what your opinion of his work is, but what good has he done for the company? What can you attribute directly to him that has helped us? He's downright rude to the analysts causing the market to be against us, he's a pathlogical liar causing shareholder lawsuits, he leaks information that he probably shouldn't, and virtually every time he opens his mouth he does something to hurt the company or the share price. I will personally cheer the day he retires, and I'm hoping that it's still his plan at the end of this year.
