Thanks, Joe. I'd go through and list all of the "white lies" that AMD has told over the past eighteen months, but I don't want to go into a juvenile "Cast the first stone" debate. Besides, it all depends on what your definition of ... oh, never mind.

One thing I do know about Otellini is that he's a marketing guy, not necessarily a born-n-bred engineer like Grove and Barrett. But nothing in his remarks as of late show any exaggeration on his part, at least from my point-of-view. Time will tell, but I can tell you that Intel doesn't need to tell "white lies" to motivate the troops.

RE:"What part of Otellini's statements do you consider to be "white lies"?

Yields are fine
We will have 1 or 2 speed grades over 1 GHz
P4 performing at about the same speed as P3 per clock
Intel is committed to Rambus"

You forgot the one about "the fact that people would take a free PC as evidence they embrace Intels CPU registration number thingy" or words to that effect from Otellini.

Since, put egg on Otellinis face big time...as it was eliminated...

Didn't this guy come from the marketing department?
