Tench,

You must be kidding me. Ever check out the low, low prices of AMD's processors these days?

you may want to look at Dan's post: Message 14699032

Highest priced Piii - 1 GHz - $486
Highest priced Tbird - 1.2 GHz - $499
Mainstream Tbird - 1 GHz - $254
Mainstream Piii - 866 MHz - $238

Highest priced Celeron - 700 MHz - $91
Highest priced Duron - 800 MHz - $98
Mainstream Celeron - 633 MHz - $75
Mainstream Duron - 750 MHz - $73

K6 line is disappearing rapidly

Ever see AMD's low, low ASP?

It may be a good idea to study those prices and to get used to them. You will be seeing more and more of them as the bulk of Intel's processors become of today's Celeron's value.
