The National Guard operated on a point system. They may have been lenient, but he completed his points, and got an honorable discharge. It is not like being on active duty. Also, the account of the Fall is different in George, and there are those who attest to his presence doing Guard duty. The discrepancy is not addressed. I go with George. As for the brigadier, he apparently is speaking more positively than he did in the past. Some people do that......
