Clinton bows out; it's over.

I think it’s over. Despite the threatened Clinton vetoes and the successive daily emergency fundings of Government operations, Democrats have now assured Republicans that Clinton will approve a 2-week funding of the Government, so that Congress can adjourn before the election.

What does this say? It says that Clinton’s and Gore’s pollsters have told them that Clinton budget vetoes and shutdown of the Federal Government won’t work this time, it won’t help Gore. The American people are indeed sick and tired of the bickering between Clinton and his Republican congressional majority (created largely by Clinton’s own performance during his first 2 years in office, when, working with a Democrat-controlled House, he abandoned his “New Democrat” image and attempted to shift the Government sharply leftward).

There are no better indicators of what the true polls are than the actions of the candidates and Clinton. Bush campaigns in states presumed to belong to Gore. Clinton threatens, uses the “right wing” terminology, says “I’m staying in Washington to serve the people,” then goes out campaigning for Hillary and Democratic Congressional candidates.

It appears to be over, a victory for Bush.

<<What I can't believe is how they promise group X one thing and turn around and promise group Y the exact opposite and both fall hook, line and sinker. >>

Just goes to show you how stupid/ignorant these Democrap supporters are.....these are the same folks that support O.J. regardless of what he did.

BTW, the attorneys love these folks as well....easy to play.

They typically pander to fear and greed. I think some realize that Gore's environmental stance may jeopardize many union jobs. I also think because of what you say, there is tremendous opportunity for the Republican party to make significant inroads into what was considered a solid Democratic voting block.
