Unit volume cross-over of P4 over PIII is slated for Q1, 2001, will an internal goal to accelerate it. This will be done mostly with 0.18u and a little 0.13u.

Pravin, did they say anything about the Tualatin (P3 0.13) ramp? Could they be freeing up fab capacity for 0.18 P4's by accelerating the P3-0.13 ramp to Q1/Q2?

(sorry if you've already discussed P3-0.13, I'm still catching up to posts)

Pravin,

They said they will be ramping 0.13u copper in early 2001. Since they don't plan on using it for P4 until Q4, they must want to use all of it for Itanium (where it is sorely needed).

I think the first processors using .13u will be Coppermine-T and Tualatin, especially the mobile versions.

This makes perfect sense, use .13u first where they need Mhz...yet another verification of Megahertz sells (TM-McMannis)
