Robert, my understanding is the RBOCs have no choice but to make a major push into broadband, and DSL is the answer, ADSL is suited the best for the residential and SOHO market. ADI has chipsets that can be upgraded to VDSL. Anyway, if the RBOCs don't grab the customers by rolling out DSL quickly they'll loose out on being able to sell services such as Video Over Internet Protocol, Voice over DSL and other things like ISP service etc., so the incentive is very compelling for them to provide the DSL service before the cable companies come along and grab those customers the RBOCs already serve in some form.

Without additional FCC rule changes I don't feel the CLECs will fair well alone. Deals and partnerships with the RBOCs maybe the only answer or the beginning of their consolidation. The CLECs are attractive to the RBOCs, because they have the expertise, trained crews and ability to install DSL at an accelerated pace. That is why we see such deals as NPNT has with Verison amongst other deals CLECs have made recently. All JMHO of course.

So my simple answer is...I fully agree with that senerio.
