Sorry guys, I've been "campaigning" for Bush (I happened to own the fuzzymath.com domain -- and after Bush used the "Fuzzy Math" term in Debate #1 I felt obligated to try to help). After the election I'll be back to stocks!

Calpine has really fared very well during the recent market turmoil. That's a sign that its circle of followers and believers is growing.

There is no reason to think our energy crunch is going to end. That's one thing I've learned from running the FuzzyMath.com site. We simply can't produce more oil-based energy than we are right now. I had a letter from a person working in a refinery telling me that our refineries are running at 97% capacity, essentially flat-out (given that they have to shut down operations periodically for repairs of parts). Calpine is addressing our need for power.

Our power emergency is due partly to the anti-oil people (no new refineries have been built in the past 10 years; also, we have a huge anti-oil-drilling effort under way for the Alaska Wildlife Refuge, even though only 3 out of 30000 square miles would be affected -- see FuzzyMath.com for info about this). Calpine is in the right place at the right time -- and times are not going to change very fast.

We won't have a sensible energy policy in this country unless Bush is elected. Calpine is an innovator no matter who is elected. So -- I'm really happy that my computer analysis pointed this company out and made me take a close look at it. I have followed utilities for the past 14 years -- and what I see here, in Calpine, is really exciting!

I'm glad you're all making money! Unfortunately, I had to sell my shares to pay bills -- alas!
