Aus, I am not sure about UMC, but TMSC is getting more and more "free space" in their fab. Last week, Via, ALTR and even INTC reduced their open orders with them, luckily that allows TMSC to redirect some of that capacity to flash. When the Joint venture with Toshiba comes on line, additional flash capacity will be coming on line. Just two months ago, dataquest was forecasting shortages of DRAM for a good year (until the end of 2001) or so, and within two months, the situation changed and now Hyundai is on the "ropes", so I am not sure what to make of Sanders' comments.
