Re: "Making the support of a candidate a condition of employment is coercion." I agree. With unions, support of candidates and even political parties changes from election to election. I believe the Teamsters have endorsed more Republicans for president than Democrats for president the past 28 years. The "recommended" list I received from my regional labor council in the mail yesterday included mostly Democrats, but also some Republicans and one or two races in which no candidate was endorsed.
