Scott,

Are you familiar with the term ad nauseum. Every thread I read (3) has your shrill comments. You are not adding much to the discussion. KLIC, a back end company, is NOT necessarily a canary for front end AMAT, NVLS, LRCX, KLAC, ASML, etc. Other back end companies, COHU, TER, EGLS, have announced slowing or declining orders. Since chip demand has healthy projected growth rates, the back end slowdown merely reflects the need for more new fabs and front end equipment to go into production.

Cary

Scott, The valuation of KLIC is making it a great buy as I think some analyst pointed out this morning.

I am looking for my opportunity as well. This is the type where I usually look for a speculative options play (ie. stocks with low prices like KLIC and the potential for $2 to $3 move up could make the call options pay off quickly)

The same happened to Micron a week or two ago when the downgrades did nothing to push it down. That was a great options play as well (and as a stock trade of course).
Altera was another as well as NSM (i think). The market seems to overeact followed by a bounce and it seems to be getting predictable and that is why I find the opportunities in call options pretty good for now.

It seems that the companies that warn end up being the best short term trades and maybe the safer stock plays over the longer term (better risk vs. reward).

Best of Luck
