I was simply countering the idea that usage of the Internet was slowing down. This is simply untrue. Companies are moving processes that used to be done over leased lines to the public and semi-public Internet. They can save huge amounts of money doing this. What is happening is very discontinuous for everyone involved in telecom and it favors newer players over older entrenched ones. Newer optical technologies are magnitudes faster, cheaper and put scores more data across existing fiber optic lines.
