Can George W handle the stress of the Presidency? This new development adds to my doubts. I sense a lack of confidence. At times during the debates, he looked like a deer in the headlights. He does not have good communication skills. He claims to have political skills in bringing the parties together. I question whether he can bring Tom DeLay and Dick Gephardt together on questions of policy. He has created an expectation among seniors of a prescription drug benefit. They will be disappointed when he fails to deliver. The economy will have a slower rate of growth and he will be blamed.
