Congratulations on the screen (I have a 17" monitor, too). Your Representative was obviously out of line, and I am sorry to hear it.

As for liberals: well, I am of Jewish descent. Among liberal Jews, there is a constant tendency to site Judaism as a basis for their liberalism, although Orthodox Jews tend to voter Republican, and most liberal Jews are secular or Reform. Have you heard this one? A guy goes to an Orthodox Rabbi and asks him for a brukhah (religious blessing) for his motorcycle. The rabbi gets irritated and throws him out, muttering "Are you meshuggeneh, a brukhah he wants, for a motorcycle". He goes to a Conservative Rabbi, who says," I am sorry, but I can think of no brukha that would suit your need, maybe I can think of something later." Finally, he goes to a Reform Rabbi, who asks: "What's a brukha?"

On facetiousness: I try to avoid direct, blunt insult. Thus, if I am irritated, I have little recourse but to attempt humor......
