OTOT Here come the flames?

Then I take it you are saying that you never did anything
foolish or imperfect in any way during the entire time you
were 30 or younger.

Castigating GW for this is silly - and stupid to use as
a reason to vote against him. That was 24 years ago.

Big deal !!!!! Look at what Teddy did. What about
Al Gore's fun raising in the Buddhist Temples that nobody
seems to think is important. After all that was 4 years
ago, an eternity (obviously depends on who's your man).

I am not a Republican, and I am not a GW fan, but after
listening to Al Gore, the only good thing I can say about
him is that he would be neutralized by Congress. I just
might vote for Nader in protest, but I still think that
making this an issue is childish and political backstabbing
at its worst.

< .1 - right at the limit. > Most states have, or are moving to .08 bac...You make it sound as though DWI is not one of the most inconsiderate, inexcusable, dumbass things to do in a motor vehicle.:^)

I can't recall a single person that I know who drinks more than once a month that hasn't driven drunk at least 1 or more times in their life. All I'm trying to point out is that there are various degrees of drunkeness. The law is clear, but reality is far less clear. I agree it's a stupid thing. I'm not condoning it. I merely wanted to point out the hypocrisy surrounding this issue.

I would also argue that elderly people pose a bigger problem. Those over 70ish should be checked almost every year. If you look the accident statistics it's the young and the old that cause them. Drunk drivers are a hazzard, but old people who are losing their sight and senses are far more hazzardous due to their sheer numbers. However, one has a political lobby and the other does not. As our population ages you are starting to hear more about this problem, but we still have not addressed it in the least imho. I was almost killed by my neighbor once. We found out he was driving almost completely blind. I was crossing the street and he turned suddenly without a blinker and missed me by a foot. I was 10 at the time. Drunks are usually out when the roads are relatively empty. Old people are everywhere...

We continue to treat the .08-.10 drunks the same as those who drive at .2+ - pure BS.

Ok, I'm done rambling.
