Leff, of course, does not believe in God,
I didn't know, It may seem strange but I spent many years, about 20 or 25 studying the question of a God before I was able to prove to my satisfaction that no creator can actually exist in our universe. Little of this study was philosophy.

More importantly, since I determined there was no God I have not been bothered by it or felt compelled to study it further. I just stick my finger in the wind occasionally to see if there is anything really new.

I guess the point I have , if any, is that atheism is not a social club, nor a philosophy, nor a belief. It's more like a burdon set down. Once it is acheived then it ceases to be a concern, so I don't follow great atheist thinkers unless they also speak to areas I care about. It's just not an issue to me anymore. I think it is a mistake to stick with a lingering agnosticism since it nags the mind until a person resolves the question one way or another.

At any rate, I never heard of Leff before reading about him on this thread. I know lots of Johnson's but I suspect not the one quoted here. Most of the arguments are old old old though.
