ok, here we go--
<<The U.S. is far more
concerned about limiting Syrian support for Hamas and Hezbolla.>>
Oh are they? Of course they are only concerned. They would not interfere however.

<<The cartels do build schools and the odd clinic to build support
among the peasants>>

Socialistic pigs,, they should be gutted for that.

<<their internationally recognized government>>
Who's that? The US?

<< The government also builds schools and clinics, without the threats.>>
I don't believe that statement. perhaps for the wealthy.

<<that makes one assume they are not.>>

Not me. I've been down south a few times.

<< the government is rapidly losing legitimacy through its human rights abuses.>>

Yes, one more government supported by the US.

<<As far as I know, drugs are not a major issue in the Chiapas conflict. It is largely a peasant revolt fanned by a few
socialist idealists, and fueled by extreme poverty.>>

You know what's in Chiapas? Same as the Sudan.. OIL.

Behind all of this BS rebel stuff and drug war stuff you will find a greedy grasp for the material wealth by monolithic trans nationals.
Perhaps that's the way we are, however I prefer to at least view it as it is as opposed to being spoon fed Bull Shit.
"Rogue States" ho ho ho----

<<I would say the government in Columbia still has more legitimacy than the FARC, b>>

<<as long as
their internationally recognized government >>

Twice you make that statement..

These governments are rammed down the people's throats.. What do you think?.. All of these US observers are there to make sure of an equal vote. Ho ho ho
International acceptance translates into what the US dictates as acceptable.
Anyway, what has International acceptance got to do with what the people in a particular country want?

How many papers do you know that don't villanize or ridicule the target rebel on cue?
Stupid people pick up the ball like they are privy. Ho ho ho.. The sad part is that most people here would and will do the same thing, and have done it in the past.
Our relativelly good standard of living here is in most part thanks to Rebels, not from ass licking the elite.
